Principal praises students and staff following excellent outcomes
Bridgewater High School is celebrating an excellent set of GCSE & BTEC results this summer, reflecting the hard work, dedication and achievement of students and staff across the school.
Principal, Mr K. Powell, praised the collective efforts of the school community and highlighted the positive impact of the school’s collaborative approach to teaching and learning.
“We are delighted with this year’s results and incredibly proud of what our students have achieved. These outcomes are the result of their perseverance, ambition and commitment throughout their time at Bridgewater, supported by dedicated staff and supportive families.
I would like to congratulate all of our students on their achievements and thank our staff for their unwavering commitment to ensuring every young person receives the very best opportunities to succeed.”
The results represent a strong performance for the school and are in line with the high standards established in recent years.
“Whilst we are very pleased with these outcomes, what is particularly encouraging is the consistency we are seeing across the school. More students are benefiting from high-quality teaching and support, and that is reflected in the outcomes achieved across a wide range of subjects.

Mr Powell added that the results provide a strong foundation for the future.

Re: GCSE Post Results Services
I hope this letter finds you well. As the GCSE results have been released, I wanted to take a moment to provide you
with information about the circumstances in which you might consider requesting a Review of Marking of your
child's GCSE result.
We understand that receiving exam results can be a moment of both excitement and concern for students and their
families. The examination process is rigorous, and the grading is done with utmost care. However, there can be
instances where students and parents might have reservations about the awarded grades. In such cases, the option
for an Enquiry About Results (EAR) is available.
An EAR can be one or more of the following:
Access to Scripts: scripts are requested back, to be reviewed to see if it is worthwhile going for a Review of
Marking or a Clerical Check.
Clerical Check: Checks will be made that all parts of the script have been marked, the totalling of marks, the
recording of marks.
Review of Marking: Review of the original marking to ensure that the mark scheme has been applied
correctly
Here are some circumstances under which you might consider requesting an EAR:
Significant Discrepancy: If you believe that your child's result significantly deviates from their expected
performance, considering their academic history, mock exam results, and overall performance in the subject, it
might be worth considering a remark.
If the result in a subject is not in line with the other grades your child has received.
Unexpected Result: If the result received is drastically different from your child's performance as observed
throughout the year, you may consider an EAR to ensure there were no administrative errors in marking or data
entry.
Near-Miss Grades: If your child is just a few marks away (1 or 2) from a higher-grade boundary, requesting a Review
of Marking could potentially result in an improved grade. You can check the grades boundaries following these links:

Subject Importance: If the subject in question is integral to your child's chosen career path or future studies, and the
result is not reflective of their abilities, a Review of Marking might be a suitable option.

exam results envelope along with the appropriate fee and return to the examination office by
